the other day at the gym i was enjoying watching a hot guy going through his routine - he's a regular and we'd had plenty of eye contact in the past, so i was fairly sure he was gay !

this time he was making loads of eye contact, so i assumed that he was up for some action ... and as we finished around the same time ... i found myself in the shower stall opposite him !

since he was a hot guy, it wasn't long before i was showing my appreciation ... but he wasn't responding ...

i started using grindr a few weeks ago - a straight friend told me about Stephen Fry mentioning it on Top Gear ... so i thought i should check it out ...

the main advantage is that it shows how close other users are, and it has a really simple profile, so less distractions that most websites. i had chatted to a few guys, and i contacted a nice looking guy who was nearby ... and after checking that we seemed compatible, we agreed to meet up the next day ...

when he arrived over he looked a bit different to his profile pic (or maybe he just looked different to what i had expected) - but he was a really good looking guy. he seemed a bit shy, but as soon as we got into the bedroom, it became clear he knew what to do !

more Hep B vaccine jabs ...

when i recently went to my local Sexual Health Clinic, i agreed to get vaccinated against Hep B ... but i didn't realise that i would need an extra 2 jabs to finish off the vaccination ...

however the injections weren't bad, so it wasn't such an ordeal ! although on both my follow up visits the reception staff were again unpleasant ... but on my final trip, the doctor giving my the jab was asking me about my experience of the clinic - so i got to tell her about her miserable and surly colleagues !

the good news is that my well protected sex life has paid off - and i don't have any sexually transmitted diseases ...

another visit to the clap clinic ...

since it was well over a year since my last sexual health checkup ... i thought i should go and get seen again ...

i did wonder about going private, but there is an NHS clinic near me, and since i don't really consume many public services, it seemed like a waste not to use the NHS ...

my appointment confirmation did say that it might take 2 hours, so i brought plenty of reading material with me ... and i needed it all !

the first impression wasn't great - the receptionist told me to wait (standing right in front of her) as she seemed to be busy with somebody else's file. the other receptionist studiously ignored me. finally a 3rd receptionist arrived, a miserable bloke who seemed annoyed to be there, and told me to fill in a form detailing why i was there. eventually, after a bit of confusion when i handed back the form to a different receptionist i made it into the waiting room ...

about 40 minutes after my appointment time, i was called by a doctor - she was really nice, although seemed a bit rushed, but was really helpful, and discussed again whether i should have a Hepatitis B vaccination ... pointing out that most of Europe vaccinates against it automatically (I already knew the US did), and that the UK is unusual in not doing so. she also suggested that there is a much higher incidence amongst gay men, than in the general population, which is why they offer it - and she suggested that she would want her children to have the vaccine. having declined the vaccine on my previous two visits, i decided to take it this time ...

so after about 5 minutes with the doctor, it was back to the waiting room, and about half an hour later, i got called in by the (rather camp) health advisor. his job was to check that i wasn't going to have a breakdown if any of my tests came back positive - so just a few minutes later i was back to the waiting room ...

my third wait wasn't quite so bad, about 20 minutes later i was called by the very pleasant female nurse, who gave me my first vaccine shot (i have to go back in a week's time for my 2nd, and a couple of months later for my 3rd) ... took 3 vials of my blood ... and 2 swabs from my ass ... and gave me a specimen bottle to piss into ...

so having gone to the bathroom and produced some urine ... and having made an appointment for my 2nd vaccine shot using the surly male receptionist who wasn't impressed that i was interrupting his mobile phone call ... i was finally out of there about an hour and three quarters after arriving ...

another time with the bloke with the big nipple ...

since the first time with this bloke was fairly good ... and he seemed keen for another encounter ... it seemed like a good idea to meet again ...

he came over to my place again, and he had asked beforehand for me to have some porn - so i made sure i had some playing in the bedroom when he arrived ... and it really seemed to help him - previously he had been nervous but this time he was a bit more relaxed ...

whilst this could have upset me ... i just felt a bit sorry for the poor confused lad, as i was once a bit like him !!

still, i shouldn't meet these types too often, or it will effect me ...

maybe it's some sort of deep seated insecurity coming through - for years i was scared to meet up with blokes, partly due to a fear of violence ...

whatever it is, i really don't like how it makes me feel ...

a couple of days ago, i had been online for a while, but was getting bored, and just wanted a quick session ...

swine flu risk in the steam room ?

i was recently in the gym for the first time in a couple of weeks ... and was relaxing in the steam room ... when one of the blokes coughed ...

and a thought suddenly struck me ... would the flu virus be more communicable in a steam room ?

perhaps the virus would live longer in the heat ... or perhaps it would carry further ??

i watched a drama about the spanish flu the other day, so perhaps i'm over reacting ...

a gay mecca in london ...

i've often heard about Columbia Road Flower Market, but until a couple of weeks ago, had never been there ... so after a tube and a bus, i finally made it ...

there was a great buzz about the place, and it's much more than just a flower market - lots of hippy-like businesses have sprung up around it, offering furniture, crafts, breads, and of course lots of coffee and cakes !

the flower market itself isn't enormous, but there's still plenty to look at, and they are seriously impressive ! and not surprisingly, it seems to attract quite a lot of gay men - especially couples ...

strange couples ...

i've always thought the "don't piss on your own porch" advice makes sense ... but my gym attracts some people who clearly don't live by this rule ...

the first is hetro couple (i'm assuming from their contact in the gym that they are a couple - they certainly don't look like family) ... where the bloke regularly enjoys the company of other men in the steam room ! surely you'd keep your missus away from the gym where lots of the bloke know that you like blokes ? it didn't appear that they are the sort of couple where she allows him to explore outside ...

the other is a gay couple where the better looking bloke spends a lot of time in the steam room looking for fun ... but the less attractive bloke doesn't seem to be interested in other men. this doesn't sound so bad, but the worst part is that i often see the less attractive partner waiting in the reception area for his pretty boyfriend - who is presumably delayed because he's having fun with another bloke ! the patient boyfriend doesn't seem very happy when he's waiting - so it doesn't look like he's enjoying the experience of his boyfriend enjoying another bloke !

i know it takes all sorts, and i shouldn't judge, but these two couples seemed a bit extreme to me ...
